(IsraelNN.com) Responding to the Supreme Court in the matter of petitions filed by MK Mohammed Barakeh, the stated told the court on behalf of the army that a new operating protocol was being implemented. Barakeh's appeal was filed on behalf of home owners in PA controlled Gaza.
Army officials agree that only in a case that a structure represented a serious security threat would it be razed without permitting owners' recourse. In all other cases, the owners of the structure would be permitted to appeal to the area military commander, and if necessary, given an additional 48-hours to petition the High Court of Justice.
